BOSSMONEY began because buying a ticket in Nairobi was harder than it needed to be. The good events existed. The promoters were excellent. But the ticket itself arrived as a screenshot in a WhatsApp thread, the price changed depending on who you asked, and if an event was called off you simply did not get your money back.
So we built the boring infrastructure first — a real ticket, a real receipt, a real refund path — and then we went looking for the promoters who wanted to work that way. There were a lot of them.
Kenya is home, and it remains the deepest part of our catalogue. Europe and the United States came next because the audiences overlap far more than the industry assumes: the same person books a warehouse night in Berlin, a festival on the Kenyan coast, and a comedy cellar in New York within the same year.
Every event is priced and settled in its own local currency — Kenya in KES, Europe in EUR, United States in USD. The switcher in the header converts prices so you can compare like for like. It never changes what the organiser is paid.
We do not resell tickets. We do not run a secondary marketplace, we do not buy inventory to flip, and we do not let anyone else do it on our platform. If a ticket is listed here, the organiser put it there.
We are a primary marketplace only. Nothing on BOSSMONEY is resold, which is why you will never see a ticket here priced above what the promoter asked for it.
Our booking fee appears next to the face value on the event page, in the cart and on the receipt. There is no step in the flow where the number moves.
A show in Nairobi is priced in shillings and paid out in shillings. We convert for display so you can compare, never to move the cost onto the buyer.
Cancelled events refund automatically within five working days. No form, no queue, no arguing with a chatbot about it.
